The last CD I bought: Sons of Sylvia: Revelation
The last CD I loved: Sons of Sylvia: Revelation
I saw Sons of Sylvia on tour with Carrie Underwood on April 23rd (an entirely different, love infused blog entry in itself) and thought they were interesting, with their genre crossing style of music. Well, I just recently bought the cd, and I was reminded why I was so intrigued. When you want to peg them as country stars with John Wayne, they throw in a rowdy rock song, 50 Ways, and when you want to call them alternative, they throw a sentimental mid tempo track Long Beach California for you to chew on. One out of the handful of perfect songs is Love Left to Lose, catchy and emotional at the same time. Sons of Sylvia are going to be huge, and if they aren't it's because people are too dumb and can only handle listening to Kei$ha. If they don't eventually reach number one, they'll be number one to me for a long time to come.
Plus, when I asked if they would still be meeting fans, they tweeted back at me, "Of course man", and anyone that cool and appreciative of people who support their music rocks even more to me.
