Oscar's 2010 Best Director Whoop

The Hurt Locker director Kathryn Bigelow won Best Director at the snoozy 2010 Oscars, becoming the first woman in history to take home the statue. Way awesome and congrats, as my pop culture teacher said, "another barrier broken down."

I was just confused as to why Barbara Streisand presented the award. I know she's considered culturally important, but when she opened the envelope and said, "The time has come..." I thought it was the beginning of a song she was going to launch into.

It probably would've woken up a few people watching at home, at the very least.

I'm just glad that Avatar didn't sweep as much as expected. I didn't see it, but I'm 98% sure it's stupid, and notice that they didn't show James Cameron's reaction as his wife took the award everyone pegged him to be taking home. He was probably off beating Ben Stiller or something.
